LIVE BY SATELLITE
Live By Satellite is fresh air to Rock & Roll! Their sound is a modern twist on classic rock, taking inspiration from the intensely catchy guitar riffs, pounding driven drums, and soaring vocals symbolic of artists like Bon Jovi, Journey, and Def Leppard. Mixing those elements with synthesizers and loops used in modern Pop, you get the Live By Satellite signature sound. Their lyrics are deeply personal and bravely honest, pulling the listener in with stories of falling in love and dealing with heartbreak. The result is a cross-generational timeless sound of engaging songs that make you want to come along for the ride that is Live By Satellite.
Georgia born singer-songwriter and roots-rock artist Cody Marlowe found his inspiration at an early age in the soulful sounds of B.B. King, Merle Haggard, and the Allman Brothers. Marlowe’s songs explore the polarities of good and evil in an intriguing blend of lyrics featuring lost loves and hopeful musings.
His most recent album, “Silver and Gold,” is his third release since his first EP, “Where You Are,” released in 2010 and his first full length, “Eighty Nine,” released later that same year. For the new album, Marlowe teamed up with brothers, producer/drummer Kevin Sellors and bass player Ryan Sellors, to form his new back-up band the Dead Flowers. During the recording process, Marlowe recruited Joey Huffman on organ (Hank Jr., Matchbox 20) and Nathan Bedingfield on electric guitar (Aaron Shust).
“Silver and Gold” is a return to the roots of rock n roll, country, blues, and honest songwriting; reminiscent of Tom Petty and the Black Crowes but with a modern edge inspired by childhood in the 90’s. Expect this album to earn respect from the musicians of the past while stretching the musical paradigm of a younger generation.
RICKEY THADE COLE
Rickey grew up in a town just north of Atlanta called Kennesaw, Ga. There, he started singing and playing guitar before he could even walk. Deriving his passion and influence from the greats, Rickey's influences include Johnny Cash, Brad Paisley, Tom Petty, Waylon Jennings and even The Beatles. To say Rickey has soul, would be an undeniable understatement. When Rickey plays a room, the walls themselves can't help but listen and soak in every note. His passion for music and people drives him to put his heart into words and to deliver an ever captivating moment in the lives of those he holds in his hands during his set. To play and sing for a living is something every artist dreams, to act on that dream, is something Rickey does.
